Three double rooms in independant Canarian-style bungalow, in a 35.000m2 property, a couple of minutes away from the San Juan Beach and the fishing village, Caleta de Famara, in the midst of the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park, at the seafront, with direct access to the sea. Each bungalow has a bedroom, a salon with direct sea view, bath, and 2 terraces . Attractive site and modern comfort: the site is built in the island´s traditional architecture, offering modern comfort and sobriety.

The panoramic living room

Our living room has large windows that offer a great panoramic view out into the sea, the Graciosa Isle, the Famara Cliffs, with plenty of light filling all its corners. This salon is always open, and our guests can have cold or hot drinks, and a wifi internet connection.

Calm, nature and visits to Lanzarote

Nature lovers can find the key aspects of rural tourism: Tracking through a protected natural area, fishing on the rocks by the sea, discovery of nature, culture and typical food of the Canary Islands.

Atûn en escabeche (MARINATED TUNA FISH)

Recipe for 4/5 persons

Preparation

• Preparation: 15 mn
• Cooking: 7 mn
• Waiting: a few hours

Ingredients

• 500 g fresh tuna fish filet
• 250 ml best olive oil
• salt
• 1 bulb of garlic
• 500 g onions
• 1 teaspoon cumin seed
• 2 teaspoon paprika powder
• 150 ml vinegar
• 50 ml white wine
• 1 teaspoon thyme
• 1 teaspoon oregano
• 1 bay leaf

Method

Cut the tuna fish into cubes of approx. 5 cm. Peel the garlic and onion and cut into slices.
Heat a little olive oil in a pan fry the tuna fish very briefly (approx. 1 min) from all sides. Put into a bowl and add salt.
Briefly fry the garlic and onion, add vinegar and wine. Add the spices and remaining oil and boil down for approx. 3 min.
Pour the whole hot mixture over the tuna fish, cover the bowl and allow to cool. Leave in the fridge to marinate for a few hours.
Cook the tuna fish very briefly. The fish continues to cook when the hot liquid is added and therefore it remains very tender. This dish can then be kept in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Wine of the day : Bodega Reymar

It is a small family owned wine cellar founded in 1995 which produces wines using its own grapes or grapes belonging to other small producers in the area. This wine cellar produces specially muscatel sweet wine varieties or muscatel mixed with Malvasia and dry and semi dry wines with their own personality.

Re-opening of the Casa de la Cultura en Arrecife.

After 12 long years of closure.

The Casa de la Cultura reopen his doors after 12 years closed. The official re-opening was for September 21th with the presence of the artist, Luis Tabenca. The house is now open for the public.
